Pain point:

“Are we failing to win major bids because our strengths are not clearly translated into a compelling and contractually credible offer?”

See how Clear transformed bid strategy and commercial positioning to improve quality scores and competitive differentiation.

Commercial Outcome

  • Strengthened commercial positioning and win strategy for a £1bn Smart Metering programme bid
  • Improved alignment between technical capability, customer value and contractual commitments
  • Established a clear, coherent bid narrative that differentiated on quality rather than price
  • Enabled more effective future bid strategy through structured lessons learned and improved governance

Situation

Airwave was participating in a major Smart Metering competitive dialogue procurement but was struggling to develop a clear, compelling and coherent bid narrative.

While the organisation had strong technical capability, trusted delivery experience and a well-regarded offering, these strengths were not being effectively translated into bid responses or contractual commitments. Internal misalignment between departments further limited the ability to present a consistent and differentiated proposition.

It was recognised that Airwave would not compete on price alone and needed to win on quality, credibility and delivery assurance. Clear Consulting was engaged to analyse the bid approach, identify gaps and develop a stronger commercial and contractual positioning.
